The Multi-Hole Inner Piece Adapter is used in place of a round Frame Clamp Inner Piece when no tube is available to clamp around, when a square frame tube has existing bolt holes for attachment or a seat-base tarckl system exists.
Most commonly, it is best used when the seat base has a dovetail track where a Tnut (not included, added if required) is slid into the track and the Adapter bolted to the Tnut. This forms quite a strong attachment point.
This Frame Clamp is comprised of three separate components, all of which work together to create the attachment point. They are:
- Multi-Hole Adapter (MH3 or MH2)
- Inner Piece Adapter (IPA)
- Other fixing hardware - 2x 45mm M6 bolts, 2x 40mm M6 bolts, 2x nylock nuts, 2x washers
For track seat base systems, the Tnut options include:
- One long Tnut with three screw holes - best for use with MH3/IPA
- Two small Tnut with a single screw hole each and bolts - best for use with MH2/IPA
For round tube seat-bases that have pass-through holes but not enugh room for round tube clamps. a set a Round Tube Adpaters complement the MH2/IPA nicely and can make the difference in attaching the mount kit. Rouind Tube Adapters are an optional add-on.
The Medium MultiHole Adapter (MH3) has seven countersunk bolt holes spaced at 1/2" increments and the small Multi-Hole Adapter (MH2) has seven. They both have two rows of seven threaded holes spaced at 1/2" increments.
The Inner Piece Adapter is attached with bolts into the threaded holes of the adapter after the component has been installed onto the wheelchair.
Outer Pieces are then attached to this complete Inner Piece.
Other bolts, washers and nylock nuts are supplied with these parts in case existing wheelchair frame holes can be utilised.
The MH3 or medium variant is useful if you have at least 8 - 10cm of clear space on the seat-base track e.g. where armrests and lap-belts are using the track themselves and are mounting heavier technologies.
