About Liza MacLean, B.AppSc (OT)

Liza MacLean is a registered occupational therapist and graduate of the University of Sydney. She has 15 years experience working as an occupational therapist in Australia and the UK. Lizas main experience and passion is working with people with physical disabilities and complex communication impairments.

Liza worked for over 6 years as an assistive technology consultant and senior occupational therapist with the Technology solutions for computer Access, Seating and Communication (TASC) team at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance (formerly The Spastic Centre). In this role Liza provided comprehensive assessments, medico legal reports, and expert advice, information and training to clients, therapists and teachers on a range of assistive technology including alternative access options, computer software and hardware, environmental control systems, mounting systems, alternative access to powered mobility and complex seating systems. She has worked closely with speech pathologists in prescribing alternative and augmentative communication systems.

Liza is highly regarded for her assistive technology expertise and has presented at national conferences. She hopes to share some of her passion and knowledge for assistive technology so that with other therapists to ensure people with disabilities can fully achieve their potential with the right technology.
