One of the simplest of the DAESSY Wheelchair Mounting Assemblies is the DAESSY Rigid Mount. It is also excellent at holding and positioning your valuable technology reliably, repeatably and with assurance.
This new version of the Rigid Mount, the Rigid Mount with Adjustable Connector, uses the Daessy Adjustable Tube Connectors (D-ATC87/87), an updated version of Daessy’s original adjustable connector) instead of a simply 90 degree tube joint, allowing for multiple and varied angles of the included horizontal tube. An adjustable Rigid Mount!
The joint itself is the key. Each tube is secured in the Adjustable Tube Connector with an M6 bolt and the 2 halves of the connector have an indexing face, fastened with an M8 bolt. Once tightened with the included tools, it will not move but instead of being kept to ninety degree relationships between the vertical and horizontal tubes, we now have freedom to set the horizontal tube at angles other than 90 degrees.
By having the ability to adjustable the angle of the horizontal tube uniquely around the axis of the vertical tube, this allows for an extremely useful fitting tool and can apply to many types of access methods, from direct touch to switch access and eye-gaze and yet, is as strong and as rugged as the DAESSY Rigid Mount.
Adjustments
The nature of the Adjustable Tube Connector joint means that the mounts included tubes can be connected in 40 different positions through 360 degrees. When adjusting, the tubes can not slide out of the connector and the connector will not come loose no matter which side of the wheelchair the mount is attached to. Then, once the angles and device position is set, lock it in place with the included tools.
This is a tool set joint for safety of the wheelchair occupant for and reliability and repeatability of the device and does not come with a quick handle. It has the ability to adjust over time if required but is not designed for on-the-fly adjustments or for pack down.

Locking Frame Clamp
The mount is easily attached and detached from the wheelchair frame via a tonged and groove locking system - the Removable Frame Clamp Receiver (part code D-RFCR) which stays attached to the chair is the "groove" and the Removable Frame Clamp Outer Piece (part code D-ROP) is the "tonged" and is attached to the vertical section of the bent tube, which also sets the height.
The RFCR has a blue lock which, when engaged, securely holds the DAESSY Rigid Mount with Bent-tube's tubing in place no matter the terrain or tube angle. This mount only has two positions - "in use" or "removed".
The Frame Clamp Assembly therefore is composed of the Frame Clamp Inner Piece, an Offset Link, the Removable Frame Clamp Receiver and the Removable Frame Clamp Outer Piece attached to each other and is the "Locking" component of this mount's name. This makes the mount compliant for tilting seat systems or for installation where angling of the bent-tube past 15 degree from vertical is required.
It also means the DAESSY Rigid Mount with Adjustable Connector has only two modes - ON or OFF the chair.

Device Attachment
The mounted device is attached to a matched adapter plate or a specific cradle (purchased separately). It is attached to the Horizontal Tube of the mount assembly by means of the DAESSY Quick Release Base system that secures the device and allows for quick detaching of the device from the mount.
